Firewood Storage

Firewood storage is a broad category that encompasses all firewood storing options including firewood stands, firewood racks, firewood sheds and more.  Depending on whether the storage is inside or outside, dictates a great deal on what your storing options can be.   

Internal firewood storage tends to key more on design options with a focus towards smaller options that will add to the home décor.  Popular models will include elaborate designs on the steel or iron like shepherd’s hooks or fancy sling versions that can be made from suede felt cowhides.  They will also key more on portability by being lightweight or even foldable to allow for easier storage in the non-winter months.  Their man function will be to try to keep bark, dirt, and the wood off the floor. 

External firewood storage models will be built more for performance than design.  They tend to be very durable as they are designed to help season wood.  They do this by raising the wood off the ground allowing for air to circulate through it better.  Another tip that can improve their use is to keep these at least 25 feet from your home.  This will reduce the risk of insects, ants and other critters from coming into your home.  This combined with the aspect of the wood raised from the ground will work well at keeping the firewood free from insects.
